VIFA ASEAN 2024: Vietnam ASEAN international furniture and handicraft export fair

On the morning of 23 May in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ho Chi Minh City branch (VCCI-HCM), together with Lien Minh Wood Handicraft JSC and partner organisations, held a press conference announcing the second Vietnam ASEAN International Furniture and Handicraft Export Fair (VIFA ASEAN).

Organiser

The fair is organised by Lien Minh Wood Handicraft JSC, founded in 2007. The same company runs VIFA EXPO, first held in March 2008 under the name VIFA FAIR.

Export context

Opening the press conference, Mr Tran Ngoc Liem, Director of VCCI-HCM, said wood products and interior and exterior furnishings are among the six export groups with the highest value, alongside electronics, telephones, machinery and equipment, textiles and garments, and leather and footwear.

In the first four months of 2024, exports of wood products and interior and exterior furnishings reached 4.89 billion USD, up 25% year on year - well above Vietnam's overall export growth. That result was driven by a marked recovery in wood and wood product exports to the United States over the same four months, which reached 2.7 billion USD, up 31.8% year on year.
